Forest Hills Kitchen
The homeowners tasked us with updating their existing kitchen to better reflect the midcentury modern aesthetic of their 1960s home. Our interior design blends warm oak millwork—characteristic of midcentury material palettes—with a highly functional wall of white, flat-panel, full-height cabinetry. We simplified the lighting scheme to include two RBW fixtures: one over the sink to cast a glow onto the island, and a sconce centered over the doorway to function as a night light. The countertops and backsplash juxtapose two complementary scales of marble—slab and mosaic tile. This tile continues up to the ceiling behind floating oak display shelves and extends into a tall niche behind the cooktop, providing space for culinary tools.
