Set low and confidently into its site, this sprawling residence is defined by its strong horizontal lines and deliberate material contrast. A grounded brick base anchors the home to the landscape, while a large flat roof hovers above, creating deep overhangs that frame views and offer shelter. At the heart of the design is a dramatic courtyard—an open-air room carved from the roof plane—bringing light deep into the interior and creating a serene, protected connection to the outdoors. The house unfolds in a series of simple, flowing volumes, emphasizing clarity, calm, and a quiet presence within the landscape. The result is a modern retreat that feels expansive yet intimately tied to its surroundings.
