The Willow

Nestled on a hill surrounded by a Tennessee forest, this new residence embraces the landscape by situating the main living spaces on the upper level. There are three distinct porches that serve as main entry, private outdoor space for the primary wing, and a large gathering space directly connected to the kitchen with a long wall of glass sliding doors. A single tree highlighted by a circular roof reveal anchors the home and acts as the separation between the private bedroom wing and the vaulted living, dining, and kitchen. The design balances openness and privacy, using elevation and orientation to frame distant views while maintaining a strong sense of intimacy with the surrounding woods. Clean lines, custom detailing, and a thoughtful interplay of light and shadow give the home a timeless and grounded character, making it feel both rooted and refined.
